A Look Back

Sometimes parting with my vintage collections is not easy.  Even though most have been purchased with the idea of selling them, I occasionally get attached to an item and am sorry to see it go.

I decided to take a look back at a few of my favorite items that sold last year.
They are all now in their happy, new homes.

Pink Rosina Teacup

Pink Sleigh Planter

Alice in Wonderland Paint Set

Little Brown Bear on Log Planter

Miss Sniff

Puff the Blue Kitten

Red Cat Matchbox Holder

The Sleeping Fairy

The Squirrel on the Log planter

And my all time favorites!
The Cats in Hats framed prints!

Here I have digitally cleaned them up and want to share them with you!
Right click on image and click 'save image as' to download.

I've also included a bit about the meaning of the flowers they wear.

Rose
The meaning of a pink rose: Grace, gladness, joy, perfect happiness, please believe me, gratitude, admiration, gentility.

Violet
The meaning of the violet: Thoughts of you, blue love.

Hope
The meaning of the forget-me-not: True love, hope, remembrance, memories.

Pansy
The meaning of the pansy: Recipient is being thought about, loyalty. The flower's name comes from the French word pensée which means thought or remembrance. Because pansies often have three colors in one blossom, they have been symbolic of the Trinity.

I hope you enjoyed my look back at some of these cute vintage items.
Have there been any items that you have parted with that you
wish you could have back?

  1. Diane,
Your vintage items are precious. I can see why you would miss them once they sold. The pink tea cup is a beauty.

    Have a lovely weekend.

  2. Some copies of articles I wrote a long time ago. I had a cleaning day and recycled a bunch, then regretted it.

I could never have a shop - I'd keep everything!

  3. Dear Diane - each one of these items are precious...I love teacups and like you my favorite would have been the framed prints of "Cats in Hats". So interesting to know what the flowers mean too. Thank you for making my rainy day full of sunshine. It is 40 something here now - snow gone and an inch of rain is forecast...crazy weather but at least it is warm! Hope you are having a delightful day.

  6. Hi Diane, the cats in hats and the sleeping fairy are adorable. I can understand why you were sad to see them go.
There have been so many things I’ve regretted parting with over the years but the one that sticks in my mind was a set of Moomin books by Tove Jansson. Not only had she signed them, but she had also hand drawn one of the Moomin characters in the front of each book. I don’t suppose I will ever see the like again.

  7. I love these all Diane! I could kick myself for missing out on the pink sleigh and the black cats! I have to keep a better eye on your shop! It is hard sometimes to part with things! I know a couple of paintings that I sold, I wish I didn't, but then it makes me so happy, that someone else is cherishing my art! Big Hugs ;o)
