Welcome Sweet April

I know I am not alone when I say that I am sick of winter. I think it is finally over and we are safe from any more major snow this season.

Since we still have snow piles and no sign of flowers yet, I went in search of a few nice photos from my Flickr contacts. I found some by a couple of wonderful photographers here in town.  They have some gorgeous shots of flowers from our MN Landscape Arboretum and assorted local gardens from years past. Lois and David have some gorgeous photos and if you'd like to see more click on the images and it will take you to their photo streams.

I have been away for a few days visiting family out of state so it will take me a bit of time to catch up again. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter or just an enjoyable weekend of warmer weather. As I wait for the snow to melt, I will keep these bright images in mind! They are promises of things to come in the still sleeping garden.

  2. Hello Diane, Wow, these are all so beautiful; I will certainly be clicking and looking for more! It’s cold in our part of the UK (Somerset) but no snow and lots of sunshine, for which we are truly grateful. The daffodils are just starting to open in the back garden so it is beginning to feel like spring. I hope it won’t be too long before all the snow melts, and the warmer weather arrives in your part of the world. Lovely post as always.

  4. Fabulous photos ... you know I love them. I don't know Diane, I remember it snowing in May when I lived in your neck of the woods. But, not to worry, it didn't last long. It's getting hot again here ... don't like it one bit ... been getting warmer and hotter each year ... It's been unbearable.

    Happiness always,
    Jan

  5. Beautiful images! Nothing says spring quite like tulips. I have some rising from the ground, and expect that it won't be log before the flowers emerge. I am just as sick of winter, and feel much better now that April is here.

  7. Yes, April brings us that bit closer to brighter days - hopefully! Those flowers are gorgeous. I'm seeing a few brave daffodils at the moment, but that's it.

  9. Dear Diane - I know it does seem like spring has been so long in coming...my crocuses are finally starting to bloom and if the weather holds to what the forecasters are saying the daffodils will be blooming next week. Let us hope. In the meantime I am going back and look at those lovely spring blossoms you so kindly shared. God Bless and have a great week.

  12. Beautiful tulips Diane - I love that mass of colour. We are still waiting for Spring to start here - all the poor plants are so confused and I think everything is going to flower very late. Hope you had a lovely Easter and enjoyed the time with your family. xx

  15. Beautiful photographs Diane. Our weather has been a lot nicer here, but still a little cooler than we'd like these past few days. Your garden will be packed with blooms in no time, and I'll be anxiously awaiting all the pictures. ":o)
    Blessings!
